Biography
Karl has been involved in equestrian sports for the past twenty-five years. He is a member of the Canadian Eventing Team and has brought over 12 horses up through the ranks to the advanced level. Karl has had multiple top 10 finishes at the CIC/CCI**** level throughout his career. In 2019, Karl represented Team Canada at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru where they won a team bronze medal. His long term goal is to represent his country at both the World Equestrian and Olympic games with his current CCI**** horse, Fernhill Wishes. Beyond his own horses and riding, Karl dedicates countless hours to teaching the next generation of young event riders. He is an advocate for excellence, horsemanship and safety within the sport of Eventing and is proud to represent Mad Barn.
Notable Accomplishments
- 2019 - Bronze medallist at the 2019 Pan Am Games
- 2019 - Member of the bronze-medal winning Canadian Eventing Team at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru
- 2019 - 1st place finish in the Advanced division at Chattahoochee Hills 5th place finish in the CCI**** in Bromont, QC aboard Fernhill Wishes
- Multiple Top 10 finishes at the CCI**** level with a remarkable 12 Advanced horses which he has brought up the levels
- Short-listed member of the Canadian Eventing Team for over 10 years
- Accolades over the years include: Leading male rider in the Ontario Eventing Association and the Colonel Michael Gutowski Award for the highest-ranked Canadian in the FEI world rankings
