YMCA Camp AGQ

YMCA Camp AGQ, situated on beautiful Burt Lake, MI is home to 1300 campers each summer. AGQ’s mission is to put our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility into action through facilities and programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Camp AGQ offers a traditional overnight camp experience for campers ages 8-16. Campers bunk in semi-rustic cabins with role model counselors who facilitate a transformative camp experience focused on youth development principles.

Horseback riding and trail rides are offered as add-on programs at YMCA Camp AGQ during the summer.

Horseback Riding
Learn basic skills such as proper horse safety, full grooming, hoof picking, bridling and saddling. Campers receive half-day instruction in horseback riding and horsemanship from our barn staff. Our western riding instruction includes reining, walking, trotting, proper spacing, corral work and more.

Offered in one-week sessions and for one to two weeks during two-week sessions

Trail Rides
Want to get a taste of the AGQ Barn? Trail rides are an easy way for campers to try out horseback riding. During rest hour, campers will ride our friendly, well-trained horses on a pre-set path, supported by our skilled barn staff. No experience is required!

Available during two-week sessions only.
