Ashley Fowler was very helpful last week in balancing the diet for my laminitic mini mule Jesse. Thanks again! I also have a Swedish Warmblood Bear and a Paint Johnny - 20 and 23 - who are both overweight. Bear has PPID and takes a daily Prascend. Johnny gets 1 scoop of Heiro. They are pastured overnight but in a dry lot during the day where they get soft Orchard hay in slow feed nets. This has worked well for them dentally as they have "senior" teeth. They also get approximately a pound of soaked TC Timothy balance cubes to mix in with 3 oz TC ground flax, 1 T iodized salt, and 1 T Fastrack probiotic once daily. I'm wondering if they would also benefit from the AminoTrace+ and w-3 oil you recommended for little Jesse? Can you confirm that the Orchard hay (as opposed to Jesse's Timothy hay submitted earlier) meets the ECIR guideline of <10% ESC + starch? Any other suggestions to balance their diet? Thanks for your help!
