Comments

We do not know the actual age of my mare. We are guessing at around 20. She is fed senior feed pellet twice a day at 1.5-2 pounds each feeding. Once in early am and once in late afternoon. Consistent with this feeding schedule daily. She is fed a block of mixed grass hay and a block of rye at the same time twice a day. She gets a small serving of alfalfa hay on top of her hay. She has her own paddock for turn out usually 2 or so hours daily during this grassy times of year and during the fall/ winter season she is out longer. More for exercise and fresh air. She has a large well kept stall when she is in and shows no signs of difficulty with being stalled. Seems to actually prefer this most of the time. She is fed alone so no issues with aggressive eating, etc. Takes her own time. She is on smartpak supplement for gi tract. Wondering what adjustments I need to make in her feed and/or hay to help with this issue. Thanks
