Comments

He has navicular syndrome in both front hooves, I suspect some kind of ir issues as well. On the very round side, built with short legs, short neck, and normal horse body. He did well with tons of exercise and 1 cup of safe choice his whole life. Had a suspensory injury and was on rest then lame and diagnosed with navicular. He now wears boots to stay sound and his white line is still a bit stretched and hooves are weaker. Looked at Stabul-1 or some other low starch/sugar feed still on the fence. He will be on hay only no pasture (moving barns to dry lot) he will remain on quality hay. I want to make sure he is getting the nutrition he needs but not contributing to his weight gain. His exercise level is extremely light as we are trying to get him completely sound on the straight walking before adding in turning and circles. Essential K (4 cups, 2 meals) Hay (4-5 flakes probably 3/4inches thick a day, 2 meals) Morning supplements : Ani med msm (2 scoops) Ani med remission (1 scoop) Ani med biotin (1 scoop) Equioxx (1pill) He needs to take some weight off asap for his own joints and hooves. With an exercise limit I'm turning to nutrition to see what I can do. He gains weight extremely easily. Thank you
