About Dr. Samantha Bohlman, Ph.D.
Dr. Samantha Bohlman completed her master's and doctoral degrees in Human Nutrition at the University of Maryland. With a focus on energy balance, she studied the effects of sugar intake on caloric intake and food choice. After graduation, she accepted a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Alisa Clyne's Vascular Kinetics laboratory to investigate a unique molecule controlled by sugar metabolism known as O-GlcNAc on cardiovascular health. When not in the laboratory, Samantha would dedicate her free time to her passion for horses. In 2021, she transitioned her career to working full-time in the horse industry as a stable manager and riding instructor. Samantha is passionate about empowering members of the horse community with research based guidelines to manage horse health and prevent barn burnout.
