Amanda McCasland, DVM, CAVCA

Dr. Amanda McCasland grew up in Owasso, Oklahoma, where she enjoyed a childhood full of lizards, rabbits, chickens, sheep, goats, horses, and other miscellaneous animals that she talked her parents into keeping. After graduating high school, she attended Oklahoma State University where she studied Animal Science. During undergrad, she worked on a research project investigating a biomarker for Bovine Respiratory Disease and attended a summer Spanish for Foreigners language and agriculture program at UPAEP in Puebla, Mexico.

In 2010, she was admitted to the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, and graduated in 2014. She also attended Parker University’s Animal Chiropractic program and became AVCA certified in 2017. Dr. McCasland was a founding board member of the Academy for the Advancement of Animal Chiropractic and has been an examiner for AVCA certification. She is currently pursuing additional training in orthopedic surgery to provide surgical options for animals with knee problems, hip problems, and broken bones.

She loves working with exotic pets, chiropractic patients, geriatric patients with arthritis pain, and surgery cases. In her spare time, she enjoys riding dressage horses, Latin dance, and Jingle dancing at powwows with her family. She lives north of Tulsa with her husband, Austin, and children, Racheal and Cody. Together they have a farm with horses, chickens, an organic garden, and soon Mini Nubian goats. Their cats, Cash and Ledoux, and leopard gecko, Jasmine, complete their family. (Source)
