Amy was introduced to riding at a summer camp when she was nine years old. From there, everything she wanted to do revolved around horses.

Her father acquiesced and bought her a “pony horse” from the track complete with a western saddle. But after seeing someone jumping, she quickly taught herself and that horse to do the same. Formal lessons followed quickly once her father saw the passion in his daughter and Amy had the opportunity to ride with many influential trainers from New Orleans, Louisiana to Orlando, Florida. She worked hard to achieve many catch rides in the juniors and eventually purchased a young horse that she finished into a nationally-ranked junior jumper.

Riding continued with Grand Prix rider Barry Lane while she attended Florida State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. Amy was able to work with many of the young horses that Barry bred and continues to this day to enjoy the work with green horses. Amy is passionate about education and the promotion of the equestrian world to mainstream society. Everyone would benefit from working in any capacity with horses and Amy is on a mission to have Cavallo Farms lead the way!

Amy currently serves as the Vice Chairman for the Emerging Athletes Program for the United States Hunter Jumper Association and is a licensed official for the United States Equestrian Federation. (Source)
