Dr. Andrea Simonsen grew up in Connecticut and Massachusetts, developing a love of nature, animals, and having great friends. She went to Tufts Veterinary School in Massachusetts, working with exotic animals – tigers, falcons, boa constrictors, and others. In 1989 Dr. Simonsen moved to Albuquerque New Mexico and was in a diverse practice developing her skills and traveling with her future husband to ancient ruins and wonderful hiking spots. Andrea and her husband Dan’s daughter Sara was born during Dan’s fellowship training for a year in Logan Utah. Dillon Small Animal Hospital was founded in May 1994 by Dr. Simonsen, where she established a high quality of pet care with large loyal client base. Andrea works now part-time at the Dilllon Small Animal Hospital, three days a week. She continues to enjoy and devote herself to veterinary medicine, her patients, and their owners. (Source)
