My name is Antoine Aubriot. I started horseback riding in my hometown of Nancy, France at the age of four and have been riding ever since. I competed ponies until the age of 18, showing twice in the French national jumping pony finals and then moving into the 130m jumpers before/while attending university to study International Business. I have always enjoyed starting young horses and helping people to understand their horses better. My first professional coaching and riding experience was in 2009, Al Ain, UAE, into a new equestrian facility for imported jumping horses.
After 8 years of traveling the world working as an international sales manager, I got offered a job as a sales representative for a French saddle company in the United States. I had always wanted to experience living in a foreign country, so this opportunity was a no-brainer. In 2017 I packed my belongings and moved to the Bay Area, in which I spent the next four years. The job required constant travel throughout California and Nevada for shows, saddle fittings, and marketing. It was this time that allowed me to develop a huge network in the horse industry and begin my experience as a show rider in the USA. I was able to show in both amateur and open classes, finding success in developing sales horses and catch-riding throughout California. I did a variety of disciplines and found a niche for building young/green horses and a reputation for getting along with tougher rides. As I became more engrossed in the competition circuit as a rider, I wanted to make it my main focus, and in 2021, amid much support and encouragement, I opted to leave my job as a saddle representative and ride professionally full-time. I found much enjoyment in coaching and competing, traveling to a bunch of shows in Zone 10 and acting as head rider for the barn I was working for.
In March of 2023 the previous owner of Stone Harbor mentioned selling her business, and it was the perfect next step in fulfilling my dream of having a barn culture focused on horsemanship and competitive goals while always putting the respect of horses first. I am so lucky to have an opportunity to share my passion and experience with the horses and Stone Harbor team. (Source)
