Carlos Basabe, DVM, CVCP

Dr. Carlos Basabe graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelors as an Animal Health Technologist. After a few years, he decided to go to Vet School and he attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and from there he traveled to Louisiana State University to complete his clinical year. He graduated in 2002 and has worked as a Veterinarian in New York, Puerto Rico, and Florida. From 2010-2020 he owned his own clinic in South Florida but wanted to make a change to spend more time with his family. He started working at Viera East Veterinary Center in 2020 and has loved every minute of it.

Dr. Basabe also earned his certification as an Animal Chiropractor from Parker University in Texas in 2013.

Dr. Carlos Basabe grew up in Puerto Rico as the youngest and only boy to three older sisters and has had a love of animals for as long as he can remember. Becoming a Veterinarian was always his dream and there was never a plan B. Dr. Basabe is happily married and has a young son named Sawyer. He also has quite the extended animal family at home. He has two cats, Banner and Parker, four chickens, 5 finches, a Russian tortoise, a hamster, and two fish tanks. In his spare time, he loves going to theme parks, especially Disney, going fishing, and woodworking.

Dr. Basabe is AVCA certified and a member of the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) (Source)
