Catherine C. Thurston, VMD

Board Eligible Surgeon Dr. Thurston graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. She received graduation awards for excellence in surgery, medicine, and theriogenology. Following graduation, she completed an internship at the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center and then completed a three year surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center, finishing in 2023. During residency, her research focused on orthopedic infection in the horse following fracture repair and CT imaging of coffin bone fractures in Standardbred racehorses. She has presented her research at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons national conference. Dr. Thurston is passionate about serving as a mentor for MAEMC’s interns and providing quality care to her patients. (Source)
