Dr. Whitfield attended undergraduate and veterinary school at Oklahoma State University. Following veterinary school he completed a one-year rotating internship at Weatherford Equine Medical Center in Weatherford, TX. He then went on to complete a three-year Equine Surgery Residency at Oklahoma State University. He stayed on faculty at Oklahoma State University for one year as a large animal emergency clinician. Dr. Whitfield passed the rigorous surgery board examination in 2016 and became a board certified large animal surgeon. Before coming to Green Glen in 2019, he worked as a staff surgeon at Weatherford Equine Medical Center in Texas. (Source)
