Christine H. Johnson, DVM

Christine was born and raised in Big Sky, MT. Horses were a way of life from an early age as her parents owned and operated an outfitting business. Upon receiving her Bachelors of Finance from the University of Idaho she moved to Colorado with her husband Nick. Working a couple years in the finance industry confirmed that Christine’s passion and lifelong goals did not fit in an office and that horses and the great outdoors were a necessity to her everyday life. Therefore, she pursued veterinary school following completion of the Post Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at The University Of Colorado, Boulder. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. During vet school she studied large animal medicine and completed externships at equine veterinary hospitals in TX, FL, ID, and NV. Following graduation she worked in a equine ambulatory practice in Northern Colorado.

Christine is motivated by ambulatory medicine because of the unique challenges presented in the implementation of medical plans in a patient’s home environment. Additionally, it gives her the chance to be outside and to work with large animals. Nick and Christine jumped at the opportunity to move closer to family with the addition of their son, Colt. They are excited to practice equine ambulatory medicine in both ID and MT and look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your horses. (Source)
