Dan L. Chapman, DVM

Dan Chapman, DVM – Dr. Chapman was born & raised in Santa Maria, CA. After graduating high school in 1983, he moved to Quincy, CA to attend Feather River College where he attained an A.S in Wildlife Biology. He transferred to Cal Poly S. U., San Luis Obispo where he pursued his goal of becoming a veterinarian. He received a B.S. in Animal Science and was an active leader in the pre-vet club and curriculum.

He was accepted to & attended veterinary school at UC Davis. After graduation Dr. Chapman worked in Live Oak, Ca and Redding, Ca for a year prior to getting accepted to the Equine Practice Residency Program at Auburn University, Alabama. The residency program at Auburn trained Dr. Chapman in the most advanced knowledge & technologies in equine medicine & surgery. During that time he taught 4th year veterinary students in the clinical practices of equine medicine & surgery.

After completion of his residency program, he relocated to Redding, Ca in 1998 to practice at a local hospital. He started his own business, Chapman Equine, in May 2005.

Besides being an equine practioner & business owner, Dr. Chapman enjoys skiing at Mt. Shasta Ski Park, boating on our 3 local lakes, deer hunting, hiking, and of course, spending time with his wonderful McNab dog, Scully. (Source)
