Danielle McCallister, DVM

Dr. McCallister is a native of Barboursville, West Virginia. While her love of horses began at a very young age, she didn’t begin riding until she was 14 years old, trading barn chores for riding lessons. Since that time, she has been an instructor and trainer for a therapeutic riding center in West Virginia and an eventing facility in southwest Virginia. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Marshall University, where she obtained BS degrees in Biology and Ecology/Evolution in addition to captaining the school’s IHSA hunt seat team. While in college, she continued to teach lessons and train as well as working as a veterinary assistant in a mixed animal practice. She continued her education at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in 2018. After graduation, Dr. McCallister completed a rotating equine sports medicine internship at B.W. Furlong and Associates in New Jersey. Her special interests include sports medicine/rehabilitation and reproduction. (Source)
