Dexter Mill

Since 1919, Dexter Mill has been serving the needs of customers in Dexter, Michigan and surrounding communities. In November of that year, a group of about 50 farmers agreed to found the Dexter Agricultural Association, later renamed the Dexter Co-Op. Using the railroad access to ship and receive farm supplies and products, the Co-Op sold to members at low mark-ups and helped them to market their own products.

The Co-Op was ultimately sold to Washtenaw Farm and Garden Center in 1969, and is currently run as the Dexter Mill. It provides many of the same services as the old Co-Op, including making feed, selling supplies like fertilizer and fencing, and providing for the needs of the community. (Source)
