Douglas Stramel, DVM

Douglas Stramel received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1991. In 1994, he was accepted as an intern at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center (DVSC), where he gained extensive knowledge in advanced surgical techniques. He is the first and only Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

He is currently the President-Elect for the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) which is dedicated to publishing pain management guidelines in the field of veterinary medicine. Dr. Stramel is also a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. He is a sought after national and international speaker in the field of pain management and rehabilitation. He also contracts through animal health corporations to provide continuing education presentations and wet labs to local practitioners to advance the field of veterinary medicine.He enjoys participating in FDA clinical research trials to bring cutting edge therapies to the field of veterinary medicine.
