Emma Deane, DVM, DACVECC, CVMA, IVCA

Dr. Deane is originally from the Bay Area, growing up in Sunnyvale and Half Moon Bay, she started her interest in horses at a young age, participating in the United States Pony Club until she aged out, reaching the HA level.

Riding has always been a large part of her life, and started with her mother, who rode as a child back in England and was instrumental in supporting her horse crazy habits. With her parents both being from England, Dr. Deane travels back to visit family every couple of years and is a copious consumer of tea and chocolate.

Dr. Deane attended the University of California, Los Angeles for her undergraduate degree in Physiology, where she was active on the UCLA intercollegiate equestrian team and competed in 3-day eventing on her horse Lincoln. Dr. Deane also participated in research during her undergraduate education in spinal cord injury, specifically focused on the use of stem cells in regeneration. (Source)
