Dr. Hiers was raised in the Orange Park/Green Cove Springs area in North Florida, but has been residing in Gainesville since 1997. He received his BS and Masters degrees from the University of Florida, Department of Animal Sciences, specializing in reproductive herd management of beef cattle. Following graduation from the UF Veterinary School in 2007, he joined Dr. Ted Yoho with Kanapaha Veterinary Services, and has been serving the North-Central Florida area ever since.
Eric is married to Allison Hiers, and is a proud parent to 3 amazing children, Colton, Taylor and Ashton. Outside of work Eric enjoys spending time with family, golfing, fishing, and trail riding. Dr. Hiers enjoys being active in local FFA and 4-H chapters. Dr. Hiers is currently a Courtesy Assistant Professor in the large animal department at the College of Veterinary Medicine. (Source)
