Eric Ryan Carlson, DVM DACVS

Dr. Eric Carlson grew up in Bentonville, AR where his family owned a cast iron foundry. Eric and his parents then moved to southeast Kansas during his high school years. Eric’s parents, Rick and Fredra Carlson, owned a cattle company while he was growing up and he showed Angus and Salers cattle extensively as a youth. Eric attended veterinary school at Kansas State University then owned a mixed animal practice with an equine emphasis (Carlson Veterinary Service) in Westmoreland, KS for 4.5 years. Eric then decided to pursue specialization in equine surgery. He completed internships at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and the University of Illinois. He completed a residency specializing in equine surgery at the University of Illinois and Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital. Eric enjoys all aspects of equine surgery and lameness. (Source)
