Erin Imel, DVM

Dr. Erin was born and raised in Topeka, KS. She always knew growing up that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She was notorious for dragging animals home and asking her mom and dad if they could keep them! She cared for all pets; anything from cats and dogs to lizards and snakes.

Dr. Erin attended Kansas State University on a cheer leading scholarship and received her Animal Science degree in 1998. She was accepted into veterinary school at Kansas State University Veterinary School and graduated in 2002 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree. During her 4th year of veterinary school, she went on an externship in South Africa where she performed veterinary services on exotic animals.

Dr. Erin married Dr. Matt Imel after graduation and they moved to Tolar, Texas to work at Equine Medical Center for Dr. Howell. After a year she began working at Burleson Equine Hospital for nearly 3 years before having their first child, Merritt. Dr. Imel took some time off work to be a mommy and had their second child, Senne.

The Imel’s started their own mobile equine practice, Equine Veterinary Services in October of 2006. Dr. Imel currently practices at Mesquite Ridge Small Animal Hospital in Granbury where she helps take care of your beloved pets.

Her hobbies include spending time with her family, riding horses and reading. (Source)
