Heather Erin Woodruff, DVM

Dr. Heather Woodruff grew up in a small town in Central Vermont. She graduated from University of New Hampshire in 2002 with a B.S. of Zoology. She then moved to south Florida where she worked at an equine hospital in Wellington for 3 seasons as a technician. She was accepted to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2009 with her DVM. After graduation she completed a 15-month Sport Horse internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. The internship focused on lameness diagnosis and treatment. She was then hired as an Associate in the Sport Horse Department. She completed her certification of Equine Acupuncture in 2011. She left Hagyard in 2013 and was very excited to be reunited with Dr. Schmitt when they created Foxwood Equine in 2014. She loves the challenge of lameness work and enjoys helping horses and clients their athletic goals.

Some career highlights have included working at the 2010 WEG in Lexington, Kentucky, and volunteering at Rolex, now Land Rover, each year. She enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with family and friends. She spends free time riding, gardening and playing with her spoiled golden retriever, Skye. (Source)
