Hossin’ Around Stables

Owners, Joe and Marlene Lee, enjoy being around horses, too, but have never taken care of one or even know how to ride. Fortunately, our self-care boarders are here every day to take of their horses. For those who cannot do the same, partial care services are available, details subject to agreement.

The Hossin’ Around story begins in 2015, when we purchased a 16 acre horse farm that was built some years earlier to stable trotters competing at Rosecroft. Among the amenities then were 22 stalls in two stables and a 1/3 mile, oval harness race track.

We obtained a stable license later in 2015, in order to lease the smaller stable to a self-care horse boarder. We started to make improvements in 2016, by liming and fertilizing pastures multiple times until soil test results allowed us to over-seed in 2018. Our inaugural boarder left us in 2021, for their own horse property. That change caused us to decide on utilizing our existing facilities more fully by preparing the two stables and pastures to accommodate up to 11 horses. (Source)
