Ian Bishop

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of horses by providing, advancing and promoting equine dental care.

We provide referral services for dental, sinus, and other maxillofacial surgeries, as well regular preventative care. We always work in partnership with the primary care veterinarian and rely upon their expertise and cooperation for follow-up care and communication.

Surgeries, such as simple and advanced dental extractions and treatment of infected sinuses, are performed standing.

We make use of digital radiography and endoscopy for investigation of the oral, nasal and sinus cavities. We endeavour to employ the most up-to-date, evidence based treatments available.

Ian Bishop DVM DAVDC-Eq graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2009, with his wife Vicki. After practicing in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, and exploring a variety of types of practice, Dr Bishop found a calling in Equine Dentistry. “It provides a uniquely direct opportunity to prevent, detect and treat painful conditions in our patients. The field is quickly advancing and there’s a great chance to make a real impact on the welfare of our horses.”

In 2023, Dr. Bishop became the second veterinarian in Canada to become a Board Certified Equine Dentist with the American Veterinary Dental College.

Area of Expertise: Mobile practise, we service all of Ontario for on farm equine dental and sinus surgeries where suitable
