Dr. Purvis was born and raised in Midway, Kentucky where he grew up with draft and pleasure horses. He began working with Thoroughbreds at age fourteen while at Waterford Farm where he worked for seven years. Dr. Purvis has also worked at Marqaux Farm, first as a yearling groom and then as a stallion manager and farm manager for over 13 years. He was also farm manager at Winter Quarter Farm. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky and received his DVM from Auburn University. (Source)
