Dr. Schmidt grew up on a small farm in southwest Wisconsin. He received his DVM degree from the University of Illinois in 1973. In 1974 Dr. Schmidt moved to Menomonie, and became one of the co-founders of Country Doctors Veterinary Service in 1988. Dr. Schmidt has a wide variety of interests including, but not limited to, general large animal medicine and surgery with equine, dairy, beef, alpacas, and small ruminants. Dr. Schmidt has a special interest in equine wellness, reproduction, and surgery.
Dr. Schmidt and his wife enjoy watching their childrens’ sporting events, working around their hobby farm, camping, and fishing in their free time. (Source)
