Jeff A. Shane, DVM

Dr. Shane grew up in Colorado working on a horse and cattle ranch. His love for horses and the outdoors was combined with his wonder of nature and how things worked, when, at 12 years old, he decided that he wanted to be a veterinarian. After gaining his Degree in Biology at Wheaton College in Illinois, he attended Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated in 1993 and practiced in a mixed animal practice for one year in North Carolina. He and his wife, Susan, came to Charlottesville, Va in 1994. Dr. Shane was an associate veterinarian in the area for 4 years before starting his own practice in 1998. His hobbies include fly-fishing, brewing beer, and enjoying life with his wife and two grown children. He has a dog and a cat. (Source)
