Dr. Lugo is a graduate from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After a one year internship at Colorado State University, he completed a residency in Large Animal Surgery at Michigan State University. He spent four years in academia at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. From 2006 until the 2012, Dr. Lugo worked in a racetrack surgical practice at Camarero Racetrack. His areas of professional interest include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, minimally-invasive procedures (i.e. laparoscopy, arthroscopy), lameness and sport medicine in both thoroughbred and sport horses.
Dr. Lugo’s passion is surfing and he also enjoys other water sports, soccer, jogging and spending time with his wife and two children. (Source)
