Dr. Katie Newman graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2021. She knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian and work with horses. Originally from the Chicago area, she grew up riding and competing in the hunter/jumper disciplines. Katie received her bachelors degree in animal science from Kansas State University in 2017. During her undergraduate years, Katie competed on the dairy cattle judging team, rode for IHSA, participated in several research studies involving both dairy and beef cattle, and spent two years as a student worker in the Kansas State CVM Equine Hospital.
Katie loves to spend her free time outdoors. She enjoys fishing, kayaking and spending time with her horse, Farrah, and two miniature donkeys, Polar Bear and Jeremiah. (Source)
