Kathy Fitzpatrick

Kathy Fitzpatrick has been training horses for over 35 years. She has created a training program that includes techniques learned from over 20 trainers that she had apprenticed with during the first 5 years of her career.

In the mid 1980’s she had the privilege to own and show Sky Blue Walker. He was purchased from Cliff Hartman as a long yearling. Together, Kathy and Sky won many futurities including the Tom Powers 2 year old hunter under saddle futurity and the competitive Solid Gold futurity. Five years later Sky had earned points in 9 events and earned the coveted AQHA Versatility Champion award. His famous son, Skys Blue Boy, was born at her farm.

Kathy credits him with advancing her status in the Quarter Horse industry. Throughout her years as a professional, Kathy has trained many riders for the World competition. Equally important to her are the goals of the 4H and open show competitors. She takes as much pride and concern for them as she does for the Congress competitors.

Her achievements include: 4H state winners, versatility champions, open show top ten year end awards winners, AQHA national top ten riders, Congress and World show winners and finalists. She coaches with intense focus and attention to detail, blending her sense of humor with her vast experience. No horse or rider is too challenging.

Kathy is available for consultations , evaluations, and lessons in english or western. In depth “boot camp” sessions lasting 2-4 hours are available to riders preparing for advanced competitions as well. All breeds and disciplines welcome. (Source)
