Dr. Laetitia Tatiersky grew up in Toronto, Ontario. While completing her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph in preparation for her vet school application, she worked at HISTOVET Surgical Pathology as an office assistant. Dr. Brian Wilcock’s enthusiasm for pathology was infectious!
Upon graduation from the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program (OVC Class of 2009), Laetitia entered the anatomic pathology DVSc program at Guelph with her research focused on fungal skin disease in frogs. After completing the program at the end of 2012, she worked with Dr. Wilcock as a diagnostic pathologist with a full time caseload for just under four years, before joining Animal Reference Pathology (ARP) in Salt Lake City, Utah, as a remote diagnostic pathologist. As part of the ARP (now ZNLabs) team, she interacts on a daily basis with awesome veterinary pathologists that were trained all over North America (Cornell, Colorado State, Washington State University).
Laetitia enjoys all aspects of small animal surgical pathology, with particular interests in dermatopathology and oncopathology. She regularly attends clinical dermatology and oncology rounds (Yu of Guelph Veterinary Dermatology and Ontario Veterinary College Health Sciences Centre/Mona Campbell Centre for Animal Cancer, respectively).
Due to her strong interest in teaching, Laetitia remains connected to the University of Guelph through occasional contract positions involving the Veterinary Teaching Hospital Biopsy and Postmortem Service, teaching graduate students in the Anatomic Pathology DVSc program, and sessional teaching for undergraduate and veterinary pathology courses.
Laetitia holds membership with the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) and the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology (ISVD). She is licensed under the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO), and is also a member of the OVMA, CVMA, and Canadian Association of Veterinary Dermatology (CAVD).
When Laetitia is not at her microscope, she can often be found outside – the more snow, the better! (Source)
