Leah Lynn Reid, DVM

Dr. Leah Reid grew up in the Thumb of Michigan, where she learned a love for animals—particularly horses—very early in life. She was a 4-H participant for nine years where she had horse, hog, and arts and crafts exhibits, and was also a volunteer for the local therapeutic riding program for 12 years.

After high school, Dr. Leah transplanted to Marquette for college, where the Upper Peninsula forever ruined her living anywhere else. She attended Northern Michigan University for undergraduate and graduate studies and also worked at the Animal Medical Center of Marquette as a receptionist for many years. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate from Michigan State University in 2018. Dr. Leah and her husband, Larry, knew that there was no better place for them to live and work, so they moved back to Marquette—Dr. Leah re-joined the AMC team in July of 2018.

Since starting, Dr. Leah has greatly enjoyed rekindling the relationships she had with clients she had as a receptionist, and is proud to serve the large- and small-animal community. As a large-animal DVM, Dr. Leah is passionate about all large-animal medicine, particularly equine preventative medicine including equine dentistry.
