The photo shows Dr. Neumeister with her horse “Little Bay”. During the first 11 years of his life he lived in a 3-sided shed in an open field. He was provided with water and food, but otherwise unattended.
After coming into Dr. Neumeister’s posession two years ago, he is now working at training level in dressage. (Source)
