Megan Dorris Hunt, DVM

Megan Hunt is originally from Southaven, MS where she grew up showing all-around events at 4H and then AQHA shows. Her undergraduate and veterinary school work were both completed at Mississippi State University (Hail State!). Dr Hunt then accepted an internship position at Coosa Valley Equine Center outside of Birmingham, AL her first year in practice. She attributes much of her good career start to the veterinarians and staff at CVEC and greatly appreciates the challenging atmosphere and encouragement in developing her skill set. Dr. Hunt then had the opportunity to come home and practice out of Olive Branch, MS until establishing CEVS in 2017.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Hunt can most likely be found riding and showing her Quarter Horse, Roddy, at AQHA shows. Dr. Hunt feels that her personal interest in performance animals allows her to relate more with her patients and clients. She is active in the local horse community and serves on the board of the Mid South Quarter Horse Association. When not with horses, Dr. Hunt can probably be found gardening, reading or boxing.

Dr. Hunt is also a Corgi lover with 2 of her own (you may catch one of them with her in the truck!) as well as a cat, Lois. Dr. Hunt’s husband is also a veterinarian who practices mixed animal medicine in both Holly Springs and New Albany. (Source)
