Megan Kepferle

Megan Kepferle, widely known as “MegKep,” grew up in a small rural community in Southern Maryland as the third of four children in a single income ex-military family. With financial odds not in her favor, it took a few years to convince her family to allow her to start weekly riding lessons at a nearby stable. Megan never took boundaries too literally, and within a few years she had found her way into the instructor program. She also barn managed part-time to afford her half lease while riding and showing as often as possible. She progressed from pony hunters to equitation to the jumpers – she was hooked. When she was in 8th grade, she learned about eventing and soon took her horse to their first schooling event, won, and never looked back. (Source)
