Hello, my name is Dr Morag McMurray and I came to the Kingston area in 1999. I had worked previously in mixed practice in Kincardine, Ontario for 6 years, and then in a busy small animal practice in Whitby for a year.
I became interested in alternative therapies when a lame horse I was treating would not respond to my western treatments, or to the treatments of referral equine vets, or even the treatment of vets at the Ontario Veterinary College. The owner of the horse eventually had a horse chiropractor treat him, and the horse went sound! That was my introduction to the power of chiropractic.

I was very intrigued by chiropractic, the more I learned about it. So I took the Animal Chiropractic course offered by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA) and was certified in 1996. Taking that course was like converting the ‘black box’ that was the spine into a whole new world of possibilities. It made me look at, and assess animals in whole new way. Animal chiropractic improved my skills as a western medicine doctor also. I have really enjoyed and valued this addition to my practice.

At the animal chiropractic course I met people who had studied animal acupuncture and herbs. I was hooked! I was certified in Animal Acupuncture by IVAS, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 2001, and as a Veterinary Herbalist by the Chi Institute in 2006.

My small animal practice now, is a balance of western medicine and alternative therapies. I really enjoy using all these different modalities, as they are appropriate, to help my animal patients. Helping owners improve their animal’s health and quality of life is a real joy. I work at the Kingston Mills Veterinary Hospital on Monday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I see horses in my equine mobile practice, Limestone District Equine Services. My equine practice is limited to animal chiropractic, acupuncture and herbs.

I live with one very patient husband, a devoted dog, two divine cats and one lovely horse. (Source)
