Persia Neumann, DVM

Dr. Neumann was born in the San Francisco bay area and raised in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Neumann grew up riding western disciplines such as cattle sorting, reining, and western dressage. Her first horse was a Quarter Horse mare named Lola, and Dr. Neumann was hooked after that. While managing a local horse ranch, she truly realized that with her love of science and horses, pursuing a veterinarian degree was her passion.

Dr. Neumann received her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from Oregon State University where she completed an honors thesis and developed a strong appreciation for equine science. Dr. Neumann earned her DVM from the University of California, Davis where she worked as an Equine ICU technician and an after-hours anesthesia technician for emergency surgeries. She then completed an equine internship at Littleton Equine Medical Center in Littleton, Colorado. Through these experiences, she developed a strong interest in critical care, neonatal care, internal medicine, and advanced dentistry. Dr. Neumann is very excited to be a part of the Black Diamond Equine team.

When Dr. Neumann is not working on horses she can be found in the mountains hiking, kayaking, or exploring with her husband Carsten and her rat terrier named Snoopy. (Source)
