Dr. Rachel Powell is a 2002 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in general equine practice in Illinois for 15 years with a focus on sports medicine, dentistry and racehorse practice. Although she lived in the Midwest for a long time, Dr. Powell lived near Portland for several years when she was growing up and jumped at an opportunity to relocate back to Oregon in 2017. After a brief break from private practice, Dr. Powell is excited to return to her first love and looks forward to working with the vibrant equestrian community in the beautiful South Willamette valley. When she is not working, Dr. Powell is an avid competitor in Dressage, Working Equitation and Endurance competitions. She also enjoys hiking, biking and exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband, Doug, and her dogs. (Source)
