Originating from the Fraser Valley, Rachel grew up around various animals, including dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits. She completed her undergrad at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. Moving to Calgary with her husband in 2015, she worked at a veterinary clinic and for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) before being accepted into veterinary school. Rachel graduated in 2021 from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Rachel has previously worked in mixed animal practice, with a specific interest in dairy production, horses, and small ruminants. She is excited to learn more about advanced companion animal diagnostics and surgery. In her spare time, Rachel likes to play soccer and go hiking, climbing, or kayaking with her husband, Steven. Together, they have 4 pets; 2 dogs (Tia and Emmy) and two cats (Barton and Harvey). (Source)
