First off, I’m a busy mom, trail rider, amateur photographer, aspiring snowboarder and equine educator. I have degrees from Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University in Animal Science and Agricultural Education. After graduating form KSU, I wrote the Equine Science curriculum for Fort Scott Community College and developed their horse judging program. I coached the team and hosted youth judging clinics from 2006 to 2012. I also judged horses professionally for 10 years before retiring to spend more time with my own horses and kiddos. Although I no longer coach or judge, I still enjoy teaching for the FSCC Ag Department.
I chose to pursue a second career as an equine bodyworker because of the excellent results I’ve had working with my own horses. This feeds my heart and soul! Seriously, I love it. Also, when I turned forty, decided it was time to “do what I want to do” with my life. Becoming a bodyworker is a natural culmination of my judging experience (evaluating conformation, posture and movement) my love of healthy biomechanics and my experience in rehabbing my own aged geldings. My long-term goal is to develop a consulting program that incorporates healthy rider and horse biomechanics, train family/trail horses and offer rehab boarding. (Source)
