Rachel Poppe, DVM

Dr. Rachel Poppe joined our veterinary team in 2016. Rachel grew up on a pig farm in Perth County and spent several summers working on a nearby dairy farm. She has also spent time, as a student, driving to farms with our other large animal veterinarians as well as in clinic with our small animal veterinarians. Rachel graduated with distinction from the Ontario Agriculture College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in agriculture and later with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2016 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She was the 2016 recipient of the Ontario Association of Bovine Practitioners’ Herd Management award from OVC. In her spare time Rachel enjoys training her Quarter Horse, Kanga, who she has raised from a foal on her parents’ farm. Rachel looks forward to bringing the most up to date knowledge in veterinary medicine to Mitchell Veterinary Services. She has an interest in both small and large animals, but is especially focused on dairy cattle medicine. (Source)
