Dr. Peters received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 1996. Prior to that, he was a farrier for 11 years. His shoeing background gave him a strong interest in all aspects of lameness, whether it be medical, surgical or mechanical. He has also developed an affinity for dentistry since graduation from veterinary school. He continues to increase his knowledge in that area through continuing education. Outside of work, he spends all of his available time with his family. His wife Rachel, son Tyrell, and daughter Alisa all share a passion for horses. They compete across the United States in cowboy mounted shooting. He has also been accused of sneaking away with a fly rod whenever the opportunity presents itself. (Source)
