Robert W. Steere, DVM

Dr. Robert grew up locally in Petaluma, Bolinas, Tiburon and Larkspur and attended Tamalpais High School. Then on to UC Davis where he earned his Bachelors in Biology and then his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. He grew up in a veterinary environment, his father (Dr. James Steere) being a veterinarian and founder (~1972) of Artaurus Veterinary Clinic. In Bolinas, Robert lived on a horse ranch and trained for and competed in endurance rides and Ride and Tie. In college he met his wife, Chris, who was an avid eventer and now does jumpers. Their daughter is horse crazy, loves to jump her pony and is heavily into Pony Club. After graduating from veterinary school in 1989 with an emphasis in equine medicine, Robert practiced in southern California (Simi Valley area) for a few years before returning to Sonoma County to join his father at Artaurus. Robert eventually bought out his father and in 2007 built our new clinic where he heads up the Artaurus team. Robert has a special interest in dentistry. (Source)
