Ruth Louise Gertz

Dr. Ruthie Gertz was born and raised in Centennial, Colorado. She was introduced to horses at a young age by her mother and was hooked ever since.

Growing up, Ruthie took riding lessons at local barns and began riding dressage in high school. She developed a close relationship with her trainer, working as a groom and exercising horses, which inspired Ruthie to pursue a career with horses. The intricate athletic and emotional bond between horse and rider is a connection that drives Ruthie’s passion for equine medicine.

Dr. Gertz earned her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science from Colorado State University and received her veterinary education at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. During vet school, Ruthie worked as a technician for the ultrasound and internal medicine services at the Hospital for Large Animals. (Source)
