Dr. Thuerauf spent her childhood in a tiny town called Datil, NM, and graduated from Silver High in Silver City, NM in 2015. She attended New Mexico State University for her undergraduate degree in Animal science with a minor in Organic Chemistry. After graduating Undergrad, she attended Washington State University for Veterinary school.
When growing up she showed livestock and horses in 4H, FFA, and AQHA. While always having a passion for animals she knew early on that she wanted to work with animals whether that would be becoming a jockey, horse trainer, or veterinarian. After working for a mixed animal practice in Silver City, NM she knew becoming a veterinarian would be a career that she would love forever! (Source)
