Sara Steidl, DVM

Growing up on a horse ranch in Southern California gave Dr. Steidl early experience with horses. From helping breed and foal out mares to training two year olds. Dr Steidl learned a lot about equine husbandry, herd management and care. Her experience led her to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at UC Davis with the ultimate goal of becoming a veterinarian.

While at UC Davis she found work as a technician and teaching assistant at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. During this time she was able to work on published studies as well as teach veterinary students. This culmination of experience and education lead Dr. Steidl to the graduate from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.

After graduation she found employment at Pioneer Equine Hospital. It was here, she was able to gain valuable experience in emergency medicine, reproductive medicine, and sports medicine. During her time at Pioneer Equine Hospital she became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in Colorado. In 2015 she then took over Dr. Alan Goldhahn’s ambulatory practice in Lodi.
