Scott Armour

Scott is a graduate of the Westmoreland-Davis Equestrian Institute in Leesburg, Va. where trained with Tad Coffin and Raul de Leon. Since graduation in 1986, he and his students have competed in the Hunter, Jumper, and Dressage divisions at both A rated and local shows.

Scott draws on his dressage background to create a correct foundation of flatwork in his students and horses. Over fences work is a combination of gymnastics and courses. Again, the emphasis is on a classical, methodical way of training for both horse and rider.

His teaching style is direct and detail oriented with focus on safety. He is knowledgeable in riding theory, but also able to demonstrate the concepts for those who are more visual learners.

Scott is passionate about riding and teaching, and a student’s drive and desire to learn correct riding and horsemanship is the most important factor for success in his program. (Source)
