Shelby Matz, DVM

Dr. Shelby Matz was born and raised in Basehor, Kansas and grew up riding hunter jumper horses. She attended Kansas State University and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2008. She then attended Kansas State Veterinary School and graduated with her doctor of veterinary medicine in 2012. She completed a one year internship at Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond, OK.

She joined Sapulpa Equine Hospital as an associate in June 2013. Her strong interest in integrated veterinary medicine has driven her to fulfill licensing in animal chiropractic and acupuncture. She graduated from One Health’s Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians in April 2014. She then graduated from Options for Animals, College of Animal Chiropractic in July 2014 as an IVCA Certified Animal Chiropractor. She thoroughly enjoys providing these modalities to her equine patients. In July 2016, she became a partner of Pine Ridge Equine Hospital. Her interests include chiropractic, acupuncture, lameness and sport horse medicine, as well as emergency medicine.

She married her college sweetheart, Jason Matz, and they have a busy family life with three kids. In her free time she loves spending time with her family and being at the lake with family and friends. (Source)
