Simone Koster, DVM

Dr. Simone Koster grew up in Scarsdale, New York and was obsessed with horses from the first time she saw one in a picture book. She began riding early on and later went on to spend several years teaching at and managing barns in New York, Connecticut, Ohio, and Ireland. Along the way she worked with and learned about hunter-jumpers, eventing, Western pleasure, reining, steeplechase, dressage, and saddle seat. After spending a year as a trainer and manager at Stracomer Stables in Bundoran, Ireland she returned to the states to attend Oberlin College where she majored in biochemistry. She attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2017 with honors in Equine Surgery. She completed an internship at Equine Specialty Hospital in Burton, OH, and then worked as an associate at Califon Animal Hospital in Califon, NJ until the cold weather got to be too much and she found her way to North Carolina.
